OryCon 42 will not be happening this year due to the pandemic. It will be held November 12 to 14, 2021. We will have a free virtual mini-con in 2020.
If you’ve already purchased a membership, you may roll it over to 2021 or request a refund.
OryCon 42 in 2021
While the world remains uncertain, we intend to be back in person at the Red Lion on the River for 2021. We have a contract with the hotel for our traditional dates, November 12 to 14, 2021.
Those with memberships for 2020 have the option to roll them over to 2021, receive a refund, or donate their memberships. Please visit our form here to make your selection.
We are also rolling back pricing since we are now more than a year out from the con. We are rolling back to our $40 rate until February 15, 2021. For those that purchased at the $50 rate, a partial refund will be sent.
Our pricing schedule will be as follows:
- $40 (rollback) until February 15, 2021
- $50 from February 16, 2021 to July 15, 2021
- $60 from July 16, 2021 until October 15, 2021
- $75 at the door
The 2021 OryCon will be OryCon 42. We are retaining our theme of “Humor, Satire, and Parody in Science Fiction and Fantasy”. Our Artist GoHs, Phil and Kaja Foglio, will be returning for 2021, and we are pleased to announce the addition of Toni Weisskopf as Editor GoH. Further GoHs will be announced throughout the year.
OR-eCon in 2020
To tide us over until 2021, we’ll be holding a free virtual mini-con on our 2020 weekend (November 13 to November 15, 2020). We’re calling it OR-eCon, and we’ll have a schedule up closer to con. For now, we’re actively recruiting volunteers interested in making this virtual event happen. Please contact volunteers@orycon.org if you are interested in volunteering for OR-eCon.
If you would like to be notified as our plans progress, you can join our mailing list here.
While this will be a free event, we will be requesting donations both to cover the costs of the virtual event and for use elsewhere in the organization. As always, the various OSFCI charitable funds (Clayton, Petrey) are also open to donations.
